As the summer winds down, I reflect on the last 12 months of life in our family. It has been a time of realizing what is most important in one's life, of building faith, understanding, letting go of trying to control that which can not be controlled, and accomplishing more goals. Through it all I have been blessed to find an inner peace. Now the update you have been waiting for- Referrals have been made through May 15, 2006. This means, only 22 days of files of ours!
Rumor Queen's latest projections are:
her guess as to who will receive referrals when, based on past statistics
This means we quite probably will receive a referral sometime this Autumn. Which means we might actually become parents this year!
How precious it is, Lord, to realize that You are thinking about me constantly! Psalm 139:7
4 Years!
Just checking in-
As of yesterday, we have been logged in in China for 4 years! We could never have imagined this journey to take so long. We know that you are praying for our family and thank you. I'm believing that we will get a referral this fall. The June referrals take us through the date 4-21-06.
I stumbled upon the following this evening and couldn't agree more.
"One of the things that I love about adoption is that—just like Christ’s death on the cross—adoption is a redemption story. The circumstances that lead to adoption are not perfect. Usually they are painful, difficult circumstance. But adoption transforms something painful into something amazingly beautiful. So while our child’s current circumstances may be far, far from perfect right now, and we experience our own grief and sadness as we wait for her/him, we know that God has a miracle in store for us, and the joy we have ahead of us is beyond measure. How amazing is that?"

February
The answer to that reoccurring question: Where are they now? The answer is April 6, 2006. Families with April 4 and 5 received referrals this week. To see some beautiful babies check out the February Referrals link on the right sidebar.
Haiti
We wanted to share with you how our adoption agency is directly involved with helping the orphaned children in Haiti. If you are interested in making a donation to a Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund and want to make sure that 100% of your donation aids the children there, please follow this link http://www.chinesechildren.org/ . They have updated videos and information on how the governments are working together to get the children to safety.
January 2010
Please accept our apology for not posting in so long. Yes, we are still on this journey. What a journey it has been. A journey of faith, love, courage and discovering what the Lord has planned for us. We have grown a lot as a family this last six months and have strengthened our faith in the Lord. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
The Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs has a new director and families with log in dates including April 3, 2006 have received referrals. What does that mean for us? Projections have us with a referral by October. I will continue to post monthly to update you on referrals.
In addition to keeping up with the adoption world, I also have become a frugal shopper. I promised many of my friends I would link a few of my favorite coupon/saving sites on this blog, they can be found on the right.
