October 20: Liurong Temple

Our first stop on the City Tour was the Buddhist Temple, Liurong Temple (Temple of the Six Banyan Trees). It is a world-famous Tempe with a long history. There is a towering pagoda, banyan trees and is full of cultural relics. More than 1450 years ago, Tan Yu (a master priest) under the orders of Emperor Lang Wu, founded the temple. In the early Song Dynasty (10th century) both the temple and pagoda were destroyed. In the Shao Sheng 4th year of the Northern Song Dynasty, the pagoda was rebuilt. Lila was fascinated by the burning pot of intense and the people praying. It made such an impression on her she awake the next morning saying "Daddy, I'm too little to pray. I have to be bigger to pray".
